Analytical expressions for a differentially moving slab
نویسندگان
چکیده
An analytical solution of the comoving frame radiative transfer equation for a differentiallymoving slab is obtained and written in terms of the wavelength-integrated extinction coefficient ψ, the spectral thickness. It is shown that ψ is much smoother than the extinction coefficient χ(λ) itself and that it can bewell approximated e.g. by a simple piecewise linear function. Compared to conventional algorithms it allows speed-ups of factors ≥ 105 in the calculation of wavelength-integrated quantities such as e.g. the total flux, the radiative force, or the energy balance with an accuracy of ≤ 1%. The total number of lines which can be taken into account is essentially unlimited. A simple expression for the total flux in the diffusion limit is derived and the dependencies on the velocity gradient are discussed.

Transient Three-Dimensional Thermal Analysis of a Slab with internal heat generation and heated by a Point Moving Heat Source
In this work, analysis of transient three-dimensional heat transfer in a slab with internal heat generation and heated by a point moving heat source along its axis is carried out using integral transforms methods. The heat input into slab or workpiece by the moving heat source is considered in the model. From the results, it was established that the temperature of the material during the heat t...
متن کاملFreezing in a Finite Slab Using Extensive Perturbation Expansions Method
In this paper Mathematica is used to solve the moving boundary problem of freezing in a finite slab for higher order perturbations. Mathematica is a new system which makes it possible to do algebra with computer. More specifically, it enables researchers to find the location of the ice at any time for as high order of perturbation as one whishes. Using of Mathematica and outer solution and an i...
متن کاملNonlinear Vibration Analysis of the Beam Carrying a Moving Mass Using Modified Homotopy
In the present study, the analysis of nonlinear vibration for a simply-supported flexible beam with a constant velocity carrying a moving mass is studied. The amplitude of vibration assumed high and its deformation rate is assumed slow. Due to the high amplitude of vibrations, stretching is created in mid-plane, resulting in, the nonlinear strain-displacement relations is obtained, Thus, Nonlin...
متن کاملMoving Three Collinear Griffith Cracks at Orthotropic Interface
This work deals with the interaction of P-waves between a moving central crack and a pair of outer cracks situated at the interface of an orthotropic layer and an elastic half-space. Initially, we considered a two-dimensional elastic wave equation in orthotropic medium. The Fourier transform has been applied to convert the basic problem to solve the set of four integral equations. These set of ...
متن کاملAnalytical Analysis of The Dual-phase-lag Heat Transfer Equation in a Finite Slab with Periodic Surface Heat Flux (RESEARCH NOTE)
This work uses the dual-phase-lag (DPL) model of heat conduction to demonstrate the effect of temperature gradient relaxation time on the result of non-Fourier hyperbolic conduction in a finite slab subjected to a periodic thermal disturbance. DPL model combines the wave features of hyperbolic conduction with a diffusion-like feature of the evidence not captured by the hyperbolic case. For the ...
